In many cases, teams reach for Redux as the de facto choice for state management. But sometimes, Redux is overkill. In those cases, the React Context API might suit your needs perfectly.
In this course, we’ll build a simple email client using the React Context API to pass data throughout the app. You’ll learn how to create a context, how to pass data deeply through an app without manually passing props all over the place, and how to group related data and logic using simple wrapper components. We’ll also cover practical applications like using Context to display and manage notifications, how to maximize performance with Context, and how to test the components that use it to ensure your app is working properly.
planing to use context for themes
Very precise and covers pretty much all aspects from development, testing and optimization techniques. Awesome tutorial.
Great course! I really liked the combination of context, testing and optimizations. I wish I have watched this earlier!!
The only thing I could change is using more hooks. I have coworkers that are learning about react and they have only used hooks, so they may feel a little lost here.
Other than that I would still recommend this course.
Good to learn about the more effective render pattern
I would have liked to see using hooks more as it's more current API when writing React components, instead of class based components.
Otherwise, the content is really dense and I had to rewatch/replay videos couple of times, which I have no problem with.
Great content, otherwise.
Short, crisp to the point examples. Didn't bore with implementation of the boilerplate.
Become familiar with the Workers CLI wrangler
that we will use to bootstrap our Worker project. From there you'll understand how a Worker receives and returns requests/Responses. We will also build this serverless function locally for development and deploy it to a custom domain.
This is a practical project based look at building a working e-commerce store using modern tools and APIs. Excellent for a weekend side-project for your developer project portfolio
git is a critical component in the modern web developers tool box. This course is a solid introduction and goes beyond the basics with some more advanced git commands you are sure to find useful.
